The miners achieved their first victory in the European campaign
Defender of Donetsk Shakhtar Efim Hemp after defeating Young Boys (2:1) in the fourth round of the group stage of the Champions League, he focused on the confidence that the Ukrainian team felt.
“We are all very happy that we finally got our first victory. We’ve done a lot of work. We had to defend our points to the end. We’re starting to feel at home here.”
“Of course, winning gives us confidence. Our journey is not over yet,” concluded Hemp.
The guests managed to score first; Kastriot Imeri scored. Just four minutes later, the Miners got even – Alexander Zubkov blocked Georgy Sudakov’s cross, and scored Shakhtar’s first goal in the current Champions League.
Later, Sudakov himself, after a combination with Eguinaldo, brought the Ukrainian club ahead. Until the end of the match, Shakhtar managed to maintain a minimal advantage.
After four rounds, Marino Pusic’s team has four scoring points and is in 28th position. On November 27, the Miners will hold an away meeting with PSV.
