Enrique’s team missed out on a draw at the end of the match
Mentor PSG Luis Enrique was disappointed with the outcome of the confrontation with Atlético Madrid (1:2) in the group stage of the Champions League.
“There are no words. I think in our three home games we were clearly superior to our opponents, but we were unlucky.”
“We will wake up and continue to work. Four games left. As long as we have games, we will fight to the last. But it’s difficult to explain.”
“I’ve been in football for over 30 years and I can’t explain it. It’s just bad luck. We were superior to our opponents. And the result is completely unfair.”
The teams exchanged goals in the first half. Warren Zaire-Emery opened the scoring after a pass from Ousmane Dembele. And just four minutes later, Nahuel Molina restored equality. In stoppage time, Matrasniki snatched victory after a goal from Angel Correa.
PSG suffered their second defeat in the group stage and are 25th in the overall table with four points. On November 26, Enrique’s team will visit Bayern.
