Ex-Monaco coach Jardim has agreed a contract with Al Ain

The Portuguese specialist will sign a contract with the UAE club until June 2025

Portuguese specialist Leonardo Jardim close to appointment as head coach Al Ain.

Jardim agreed on a contract with the UAE club until June 2025. As head coach, he must replace Hernan Crespo, whose dismissal became known yesterday.

From 2014 to 2018 (and also a short period in 2019), Leonardo Jardim led Monaco. In 2017, Jardim won the French championship with the Monegasques and also led them to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

After Monaco, Jardim headed the Saudi Al-Hilal, Shabab Al-Ahly from the UAE, as well as the Qatari Al-Rayyan.

Al Ain were defeated by Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nasr in the Asian Champions League (1:5) in their last match. Before this, the UAE club was defeated by Egyptian Al-Ahly (0:3) in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Intercontinental Cup.

In the UAE Championship, Al Ain is based only in 8th position – based on the results of five rounds, it scored eight points. The team will play their next match on November 21 against Al-Uroba.
