Dynamo, playing almost the entire match in the minority, lost badly to Ferencvaros

The White-Blues missed the chance to get their first points of the tournament, failing in the second half.

On Thursday, November 7, in Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion, Ukrainian Dynamo and Hungarian Ferencvaros met as part of the fourth round of the main part of the Europa League.

It was a match where Alexander Shovkovsky’s team actually claimed their first victory in the tournament.

But the chances of a successful result were dramatically reduced in the 17th minute, when Vladislav Dubinchak jumped into an optional tackle, kicking his opponent in the ankle. After watching the replay, the head referee sent the Ukrainian off the field.

The “White-Blues” fought as hard as they could and resisted the enemy’s attacks, gaining a numerical advantage. And if in the first half the Kiev team managed to keep the goal intact, then at the beginning of the second half of the game the nominal guests very quickly closed the question of the winner of the match.

In the 54th minute, Vladislav Kabaev was cut in his own half of the field, giving an inaccurate back pass. Barnabash Varga took advantage of this and fired right into the top corner of Georgiy Buschan’s goal.

And just one minute later, Ferencvaros doubled the lead through Kristoffer Zachariassen’s effort – the situation became critical for Dynamo.

The Hungarian team continued to attack, hoping to develop their advantage. The Ukrainians continued to fight, but without success.

Varga scored a double, finishing a cross from the flank with a header. And the best joker of the night was Saldanha: the Brazilian appeared on the field in the 76th minute and immediately wrote his name in the match report as goal scorer.

As a result, Dynamo suffered a fourth consecutive defeat, which is why they are at the bottom of the overall table, without a single point to their credit. The next opponent of the Kiev team is Victoria Plzen, who previously knocked out Krivbass in the current Europa League. This meeting will take place on November 28.
