The Austrian’s recovery from a torn cruciate ligament is reaching the home stretch
Defender Real Madrid David Alaba started training with the ball.
This happened on the 326th day after the Austrian tore the cruciate ligament in his knee in December 2023 in a match with Villarreal (4:1).
David Alaba’s recovery is longer and more difficult than that of his teammates Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao, who were also injured last season and returned after eight months.
It was previously expected that the Austrian would be available this autumn, but the pace of his recovery does not allow him to force his return to the game. It was reported that Alaba continues to train individually, and the club highly values his professionalism.
On Tuesday, Real Madrid suffered a sensational home defeat from Milan (1:3) in the Champions League. Carlo Ancelotti’s team will play their next match on November 9 in La Liga – they will host Osasuna in their hometown of Santiago Bernabeu.
