The idea of returning beer to football stadiums will not be considered by the State Duma at least in the autumn session, said the chairman of the State Duma Committee for Physical Culture and sports, Oleg Matytsin.
Earlier, Russian State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev told that the issue of returning beer to stadiums was being discussed within the government and the presidential administration, it is hoped therefore a positive conclusion will be received in the near future.
– I will not comment. If Dmitri Alexandrovich said so, then he has a question. There are no topics for discussion yet. When that happens I will comment. But there are no such initiatives yet within the framework of the autumn session,” Matytsin told the correspondent.
The sale of alcoholic beverages at sports venues has been banned in Russia since 2005. It has been suspended during certain major international competitions in Russia, notably the 2018 Football World Cup.
