The ex-striker notes the Ukrainian’s significant progress compared to last year
Former Liverpool and England striker and current TV presenter Peter Crouch believes that the winger Chelsea Mikhail Mudrik is making progress both football-wise and psychologically.
“He looks more confident. There was a period last year when you felt his confidence was shattered into pieces. It seemed like he was hiding and didn’t want to take the ball. Even when he got the ball, he lost it and there was a feeling in the air of ‘we’ve wasted a lot of money’.”
“Now he’s getting his confidence back. He looks sharper. He influences the game and scores goals. He needs to take that into account in the big games.”
Let us remind you that yesterday the 23-year-old Ukrainian marked another brilliant performance in the Conference League. Mikhail took part in the home super defeat of the Armenian Noah (8:0), scoring the fifth goal with a beautiful shot from outside the penalty area into the top corner. Today this goal was recognized as the best goal in the third game week of the 2024/25 Conference League.
Mudryk made 13 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions this season. The Ukrainian has two goals and five assists. The winger made almost all his effective actions (except for one assist) in the European Cup tournament, where, unlike the Premier League, he is a player in the main squad.
Chelsea leads the overall Conference League standings with nine points. In the next match, Mudryk’s team will play against Ukrainian Alexander Zinchenko’s Arsenal in the English Championship on November 10.
