The winner of the most prestigious individual award in football from France Football magazine this year scored 1,170 points. According to L’Équipe, this year the winner of the men’s Ballon d’Or was chosen by a jury of 99 international journalists: one from each country included in the top 100 FIFA rankings (only Syria did not vote). Each voter determines the top ten in descending order, with points for each position: 15 points for first place, 12 for second, then 10, 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 point.

In the voting for the 2024 Ballon d’Or, seven other players, apart from Rodri and Vinicius Junior, came first at least once. These are Jude Bellingham (5 times), Dani Carvajal (4 fours), Toni Kroos (2 times), Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Lautaro Martinez and Ademola Lookman.

Five members of the jury did not include future Ballon d’Or winner Rodri in the top ten. In Vinicius’ case, there are three.

It was also noticed that this year not a single member of the jury was able to indicate the exact last ten or even five in the fight for the Golden Ball. Only seven predicted the top four (Rodri, Vinicius, Bellingham, Carvajal): England, Australia, USA, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Norway and Slovakia.

We remind you that earlier it was found out how Ukraine voted for the candidates for the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
