The underdog scored his second point of the season, equalizing at the very end
Bayer missed a minimal victory in the away match of the 10th round of the German Bundesliga over Bochum – 1:1.
Xabi Alonso’s team opened the scoring on the opening day – Patrik Schick scored from a pass from Florian Fierz with a precise shot off the post. Later, Bayer had the advantage and Jeremy Frimpong could increase the score. In the second half, the Dutchman even scored, but the goal was canceled due to offside.
The hopeless outsider (one point in nine rounds) tried his best, biting the reigning champion from time to time, and eventually managed to save the game: the score was equalized by substitute Koji Miyoshi.
Pharmacists scored 17 points and missed the opportunity to move into third place. Bochum, despite local success, remained the last. Bayer’s next match will take place at Heidenheim on November 23.
