Frenchman Willy Sagnol has concluded a new agreement with the Georgian Football Federation.
The head of the Georgian national team Willy Sagnol and the local football federation announced further cooperation ahead of the November Nations League matches against Ukraine and Albania.
According to the press service of the local football federation, the 47-year-old French specialist signed a new contract until 2028.
Sagnol took charge of the Georgia national team in February 2021. Under his leadership, the team played 42 matches, won 20 times, drew six times and lost 16 times.
Under the leadership of the Frenchman, the Georgian national team played in the European Championship for the first time in history and made it to the 1/8 finals of Euro 2024. After winning Division C of the Nations League, Georgians are now playing in Division B in a group along with Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Albania, where they occupy second place in the quartet with six points after four matches.
We remind you that the next match of the fifth round of the group round of the Nations League Georgia – Ukraine will take place on Saturday, November 16, in Batumi at the Adjara Bet Arena stadium. The match will start at 19:00 Kyiv time.
