Dmitry Mikhailenko’s team starts qualifying for the 2025 European Championship
Head coach Ukrainian national team U-19 Dmitry Mikhailenko announced the team’s starting line-up for the match with the youth team Kazakhstan in qualification European Championship 2025.
Goalkeeper Vyacheslav Surkis and midfielder Christian Shevchenko will play from the first minutes. Forward Matvey Ponomarenko will lead the blue-and-yellows with the captain’s armband.

The match between Ukraine and Kazakhstan will take place in Assen, the Netherlands. The meeting starts at 20:00.
The blue-yellows play in Group 1 of the Euro 2025 Youth Qualification. On November 16th, Mikhailenko’s team will face Slovenia, and on the 19th – the Netherlands.
To qualify for the elite round of selection, the blue-yellows must take one of the first two places in their quartet. The chance to advance from third place is minimal – it will go to only one “lucky loser” in 13 groups.
