Blancos are aware that a winter transfer is unlikely given the amount Leverkusen want to receive for their leader
Real increased interest in the midfielder Bayer to Florian Wirtz and intends to make the transfer next summer.
Several voices within the club’s management have pointed to the need to sign the German ball-playing midfielder after Los Blancos decided not to seek a replacement for Toni Kroos, who retired last summer. Real Madrid fear that with Kroos’ departure, the team’s creativity has been lost.
At the same time, Real realizes that this transfer is unlikely in the winter transfer window, given the amount that Bayer intends to receive for its leader.
The 21-year-old midfielder has scored seven goals and provided three assists in 16 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen this season. Wirtz’s current contract with the Leverkusen club, extended two years ago, runs until the summer of 2027.
Real Madrid will play their next match on November 24 against Leganes.
