Laureates in all categories will be announced on December 27
Ukrainian striker for Roma Artem Dovbik at a prestigious award Globe Soccer Awards-2024 presented in two categories at once – best football player years and best striker.
The list of candidates for the main award includes 30 players, including Artem, as well as all the strongest football players in the world, led by the 2024 Ballon d’Or winner Rodri (Manchester City) and his main competitor Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid.
Ten nominees are vying for the prize for the best forward (in the broad sense of the term). In addition to Dovbik, these are Phil Foden and Erling Haaland from Manchester City, Vinicius and Kylian Mbappe from Real Madrid, Harry Kane (Bayern), Lautaro Martinez (Inter), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), as well as two wingers of the Spanish national team – Nico Williams (Athletic) and Lamin Yamal (Barcelona).
Let us remember that at the end of October Dovbik took 29th place in the voting for the Ballon d’Or, sharing this position with his teammate, German defender Mats Hummels.
Dovbik officially transferred to Roma in early August. Artem became the first Ukrainian in the history of Wolves. According to previously released information, the transfer cost the Romans 32-33 million euros and 5-6 million bonus payments. Girona will also receive a certain percentage from the resale of the Ukrainian.
This season Artem has six goals and one assist in 15 matches. At the same time, Roma is in a deep crisis – 13 points after 12 rounds and a place in the bottom half of the standings. The capital club has already experienced coaching resignations twice: in September, Daniele De Rossi was fired, and on November 10, his successor Ivan Jurich lost his position.
The main candidate for the vacant position was named coach of the Turkish national team Vincenzo Montella. Also among the possible replacements for Jurich was the ex-mentor of the Romans, Rudi Garcia. According to current information, the Giallorossi are negotiating the appointment of 73-year-old Claudio Ranieri as head coach until the end of the season.
The main winner of the Globe Soccer Awards last year was Erling Haaland. Jude Bellingham was named best young player, and Cristiano Ronaldo took home the Diego Maradona award for top scorer.

Based on the results of open voting, shortlists of applicants will be formed in all eight nominations. The laureates will be announced and awarded at a ceremony to be held in Dubai (UAE) on December 27.
