Alexander missed the first Nations League match with the Caucasian team due to injury
Football player Ukrainian national team Alexander Zinchenko shared his opinion about the newcomers to the national team, as well as about the upcoming away match with Georgia V League of Nations.
“New faces on the team? I already knew all the guys, we met with them at the youth level. That’s why I know everything about everyone and look at them. And I’m very happy for them, because they really deserved this call to the national team.”
“In the first match against Georgia it was a tough field and there was really little football on both sides, so the fight came to the fore. I think if we show our best game, we can do anything.”
“It will be very difficult. We are all getting ready for this game, we understand the level of responsibility of this match, so now there is no room for mistakes.”
Zinchenko missed a lot this season due to a tibia injury. Thus, the Ukrainian national team had to do without him in the October matches of the 2024/25 Nations League against Georgia (1:0) and the Czech Republic (1:1). For Arsenal, Alexander appeared on the field only five times in different tournaments.
Let us remind you that goalkeeper Andrei Lunin (family circumstances), midfielders Viktor Tsygankov (injury) and Vitaly Buyalsky (injury) will not help the national team in November. It was also reported that the participation of forward Artem Dovbik is in question.
A debutant, Rukh defender Alexey Sych, joined the national team. He replaced his colleague in the role, Dynamo representative Alexander Tymchik. Another newcomer to the national team is 20-year-old Brentford midfielder Yegor Yarmolyuk.
Now Sergei Rebrov’s team is working in Belek, Turkey. The blue-yellows will train there until November 15, after which they will go to Batumi.
On Saturday, November 16, Ukraine will play with the Georgian national team. The meeting will take place at the Adjara Bet Arena. The game starts at 19:00 Kyiv time.
The match will be judged by the English team of referees led by Chris Kavanagh. The official broadcast of the fight will take place on the OTT platform MEGOGO, and Vadim Skichko and Sergey Lukyanenko will commentate on the game.
After a meeting with Willy Sagnol’s team, the blue-yellows will travel to Tirana, where they will meet Albania on November 19. Let us note that the Ukrainian national team now has four points and occupies last place in Group 1 of Division B of the League of Nations.
