A match between the leaders of Group 2 of the second division of the League of Nations took place.
As part of the fifth round of the group stage of the Nations League, a match between the two best teams of Group 2, Division B, took place between the national teams of Greece and England.
Early in the match, the English took the lead after Noni Madueke came down the right and played a superb pass to Ollie Watkins, who converted the goal.
For long periods the match was even, the British had more possession, but there were hardly any real dangerous moments. But in the last 15 minutes, England still managed to “kill” the intrigue – first, after Bellingham hit the post, the ball bounced off the goalkeeper Vlachodimos, and from him into the goal. Curtis Jones then headed the ball home with a beautiful backheel from a cross from the right flank.
Greece – England 0:3
Objectives: Watkins 7, Vlachodimos 78 (own goal), Jones 83
So, England managed to match the Greeks in points, but surpassed them in additional indicators.
In parallel Nations League matches, the French team was unable to beat Israel, and the Italian team beat Belgium.
