The Weavers will probably have to sell their leaders in the winter
Commission for the Control of Professional Clubs in France subjected to sanctions Olympique Lyon for serious debt.
The club is punished by a salary cap and a ban on incoming transfers in January. And most importantly, Lyon faces forced relegation to Ligue 2 at the end of the current season if the club does not improve its financial situation in the coming weeks.
Olympic’s €500 million financial debt was recently revealed. At the same time, the owner and chairman of the board of directors of the club, John Textor, insists that “various Eagle Group companies were not taken into account.” The American billionaire promises a public presentation of the club’s accounting in the coming days.
Apparently, Lyon will have to sell its leaders in the winter transfer window to avoid relegation. It is assumed that the Weavers can part with two young attacking stars – midfielder Ryan Sherki (11 matches, 2 goals + 3 assists this season) and winger Malik Fofana (15, 5+2).
Lyon, after 11 rounds, is fifth in Ligue 1, just two points away from the zone of direct access to the Champions League. In the general stage of the Europa League, Tkachi are in 9th place with seven points.
