According to the midfielder of the Georgian national team, the confrontation against the Czech Republic is a real final for his team
Midfielder Georgian national team Giorgi Kochorashvili spoke about yesterday’s match against Ukraine (1:1) and the upcoming decisive match against the Czech Republic in the 6th round of Group B1 of the 2024/25 Nations League.
“It was a difficult game. The team started well, we played well in the second half, but we expected more. We will try to correct our mistakes and return to the next game with the same attitude that characterizes this team, because no matter how many times we fall, we believe that we will rise and please the Georgian fans.”
“We haven’t been able to do it in the last three games, but if we continue to improve like this, together we can do anything. We have the experience of the final when we beat Greece and we will go out with the same mentality against the Czech Republic, this is a real final. We have to come out with our attitude because the power is in us and by uniting we can do it all.”
The final that Giorgi refers to is the Euro 2024 qualifying play-off decider in March, where Georgia drew 0-0 with Greece before winning on penalties and qualifying for a major international tournament for the first time in their history.
Let us remind you that yesterday Ukraine won the first half in Batumi thanks to an early goal – after Mikhail Mudrik’s cross, the ball was deflected into his own net by Solomon Kvirkvelia. The scoring attack began with Kochorashvili losing the ball in his own half of the field. The hosts improved after the break and pulled back 14 minutes before the end – substitute Georges Mikautadze played the finishing touch after Anatoly Trubin made a save.

The Ukrainian national team, having scored 5 points, is still last in its quartet, having more than a real chance of relegation to Division C. The fate of Sergei Rebrov’s team will be decided in the final match with the Albanian national team, which will take place in Tirana on November 19.
Georgia has 7 points after five rounds and second place. Sakartvelo is ahead of Albania in additional indicators. In their final match, Willy Sagnol’s team will play against the group leader Czech Republic away.
