Mykolaiv’s rival, Old Lutsk, advanced to the quarterfinals “without a fight”
BC Niko-Basket submitted a request to be removed from the drawing Ukrainian Basketball Cup in the 2024/25 season.
The reason for this decision is the reduction in funding for the Nikolaev team in the fourth quarter of this year. Thus, Niko-Basket’s opponent, Old Lutsk, automatically advanced to the quarterfinals, where it will play with the winner of the Rivne-Self Made pair.
The first stage of the Ukrainian Cup will take place on November 30 and December 1. The three winners of the first stage of the competition, as well as the best team that lost in the quarterfinals, will advance to the Final Four of the National Cup. The final four of the Ukrainian Cup is planned to be held in the spring of 2025.
Niko-Basket, led by Valentin Berestnev, is in third place in the Major League standings after eight matches.
