Frank is currently a “free agent” on the coaching market
Championship representative Coventry City is in active negotiations with Frank Lampard.
The parties have not yet reached a final agreement. The negotiation process regarding the employment of the Chelsea legend as head coach will continue this week.
46-year-old Lampard, after retiring as a player, led Derby (2019 Championship play-off final, lost to Aston Villa), Chelsea (4th place in the Premier League, Cup final), Everton (saved from relegation from the 2021/22 Premier League) and Chelsea again (acting at the end of the 2022/23 season).
In early November, Coventry City sacked Mark Robins for unsatisfactory results. On November 9, on the Sunderland field (2:2), the team was led by Reece Carr.
Coventry are in 17th place in the Championship after 15 rounds, only one point clear of the relegation zone. In their next match, the Sky Blues will host Sheffield United (one of the leaders) on November 23.
