Juventus is interested in the transfer of Benfica and Portugal defender Antonio Silva

The 21-year-old center back already has 17 caps for the Portugal national team.

Juventus shows interest in the defender Benfica Antonio Silve.

The priority for the Turin team in the winter transfer window is to strengthen the center of defense. Juventus’ key center back Bremer is out for the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury, leaving Thiago Motta with limited options in that position.

Among the central defenders, Federico Gatti and Pierre Calulu are currently at Juventus’ disposal; and, if necessary, the Brazilian Danilo can play in the center of defense.

21-year-old Antonio Silva already has 17 matches under his belt for the Portuguese national team. The center back was Benfica’s main player for the previous two seasons, but in the current campaign he has begun to lose competition for a starting spot to Tomas Araujo, who plays alongside team captain Nicolas Otamendi.

In total, Antonio Silva played 9 matches for Benfica in all competitions this season, recording one goal and one assist each.

Juventus will play their next match on November 23 against Milan, while Benfica will face Estrela on the same day.
