The Chelsea defender only returned from the hospital in October, where he spent two months due to a hamstring injury
Head coach Chelsea Enzo Maresca reported that his team’s defender Reece James got injured again, due to which he will miss the upcoming match nuclear submarine against Leicester.
“We only have one player injured and that’s Reece James. Unfortunately he felt something minor but we don’t want to risk him at the weekend against Leicester. It’s a hamstring, a muscle problem. Hopefully this won’t be something long lasting. He should have been a starter. We don’t know how long he’s out for, but at the very least he’ll miss this tour.”
“Rice should try to avoid damage, but sometimes things happen even if you want to avoid them. Hopefully he can be available for the next match.”
Reece James only returned from a two-month spell in hospital in October with a hamstring injury.
In total, this season the 24-year-old defender played 4 matches, spending a total of 241 minutes on the field.
The match Leicester – Chelsea in the 12th round of the Premier League will take place on Saturday, November 23.
