Shakhtar commercial director: Bayern bought 16 thousand tickets for the Champions League match for a total of 1.2 million euros

The confrontation between the Miners and the German giants will take place in Gelsenkirchen on December 10

Commercial Director Shakhtar Dmitry Kirilenko spoke about the situation with the sale of tickets for the nominally home match for the champion of Ukraine of the 6th round of the general stage Champions League against Bavariawhich will take place in Gelsenkirchen on December 10.

“In recent days, discussions and protests have revolved around 3,000 seats (5% of the total quota provided for by UEFA regulations for the visiting team). We want to be clear: the complaints come from a certain group of Bayern ultras who are unhappy that the tickets for these seats do not match the price provided by the 4-match package for FC Schalke 04 season ticket holders. However, it is important to note: from fans who have already bought almost 40,000 tickets, no complaints about the cost were received.”

“The accusations of trying to make money are untrue. The difference between the initial ticket price and the final price is only about 75 thousand euros, which is not a significant source of income for the club. Club [Бавария] bought 16,000 tickets with a price range of 60 to 90 euros per seat, which is about 1.2 million euros.”

“We strictly adhered to UEFA recommendations, trying to find a compromise and take into account the interests of all fans, including the ultras group. Thanks to the decisions made, we will not only receive good income from the match, but also expect a full stadium and a wonderful atmosphere, which will be a holiday for all fans. It is important for us not only to comply with the rules, but also to strengthen the club’s image as a hospitable and honest partner.”

“We are deeply grateful to Germany, its residents and football fans for their support of Ukraine and Ukrainian clubs. We understand the importance of transparency and open dialogue, especially in such situations, and are always ready to meet our guests halfway,” Kirilenko concluded.

Let us remind you that back on October 28, Shakhtar announced the start of ticket sales for the match with Bayern in the 6th round of the Champions League. The starting price of tickets is from 52 euros. You can buy them on the official website shakhtar.com.

After four rounds, Marino Pusic’s team has four scoring points and is in 28th position. On November 27, the Miners will hold an away meeting with PSV, after which their nominally home match of the 6th round with Bayern will take place (date – December 10, start time of the game at the Veltins Arena – 22:00 Kyiv time).

Shakhtar will hold the remaining two matches of the general stage next year: on January 22 against Brest in Gelsenkirchen, a week later – against Borussia in Dortmund.
