Girona in the 14th round match Examples won a crushing victory at home Espanyol (4:1).
By the 27th minute of the meeting, Michel’s team had sent four goals into the visitors’ goal. Only Girona’s summer newcomers scored – Boyan Mijovski scored a brace, and Brian Hill and Ladislav Krejci scored a goal each.
At the start of the second half, Espanyol pulled one goal back through the efforts of Javier Puado, but Manolo Gonzalez’s team was not enough to do more.
Let us note that in the Girona squad, in the 60th minute, Ukrainian winger Viktor Tsygankov, who had been in the hospital since the beginning of October, came on as a substitute.
Thanks to today’s victory, Girona moved up to fifth place in the standings, while Espanyol remains in the relegation zone.
In the next round of Examples, Espanyol will play against Celta Vigo on November 30, and Girona will face Villarreal a day later. Before this, Michel’s team still awaits a match in the Champions League – on Wednesday they will be visiting the Sturm field.
