Guardiola on Manchester City’s five consecutive defeats: ‘The team is not used to such situations, we have to turn things around’

Head coach Manchester City Jose Guardiola said that the team must accept and turn around the situation with five consecutive defeats in all tournaments.

City suffered a heavy defeat on Saturday “Tottenham” with a score of 0:4 in the home match of the 12th round of the English Championship. The last time City lost five matches in a row was in 2006.

“At the moment we are very weak in defense. We started very well, as usual, but we failed to score and then conceded. Afterwards, we missed another one, which is very difficult for the emotional state.

In eight years, we have never encountered such a situation. Now we have to survive it and turn things around by winning the next matches, especially the next one. Now we look at things a certain way, maybe in a few weeks we will see them differently. We are not used to such situations, but such is life. Sometimes it happens, we have to accept it,” Guardiola was quoted as saying by the BBC.

Manchester City are second in the championship standings with 23 points. In the next round, Guardiola’s side will face Liverpool on December 1.
