Today Pep Guardiola’s team suffered a crushing home defeat from Tottenham (0:4)

Manchester City became the first reigning champion of England in 67 years to suffer five defeats in a row.

The last time such an anti-achievement was achieved by Chelsea, who suffered five defeats in a row, was in March 1956.

On October 26, Manchester City beat Southampton (1:0), after which it suffered only defeats. Pep Guardiola’s team dropped out of the English League Cup, losing to Tottenham (1:2), in the Champions League they were defeated by Sporting (1:4), and in the Premier League, the Citizens lost in turn to Bournemouth (1:2), Brighton (1:2) and today still to the same Tottenham (0:4).

Manchester City will have a chance to break their disastrous losing streak on November 26th. In the fifth round of the Champions League, Guardiola’s team will host Feyenoord at home.
