Balakin will referee Bayer’s match with Salzburg in the Champions League

The Ukrainian team of referees was appointed to the match in Leverkusen on November 26

Ukrainian team of judges led by Nikolay Balakin got assigned to the match Bayer – Salzburg in the fifth round Champions League 2024/25.

Viktor Matyash and Alexander Berkut will help on the lines. The duties of the fourth referee will be performed by Vitaly Romanov. The VAR team included Spaniard Guillermo Cuadra Fernandez and Italian Valerio Marini.

Let us remind you that Balakin previously officiated the match between Sparta and Brest in the fourth round of the 2024/25 Champions League. Prior to this, Nikolai worked at the meeting between Real Sociedad and Salzburg in 2023. Ukrainian referees will officiate the match of the main stage of the Champions League for the fourth time in history.

Bayer has 7 points and is in 13th place in the overall Champions League table. Salzburg are in 30th place with three points. The match will take place in Leverkusen on November 26. The meeting starts at 22:00.
