Emily reached the quarterfinals, showing the best result in her career
Ukrainian fencer Emily Conrad reached the quarterfinals at the stage Fencing World Cup in Vancouver.
The 17-year-old athlete consistently beat Canadian Grace Hu (15:12), as well as two compatriots – Elena Krivitskaya (15:11) and Inna Brovko (8:7) at the tournament distance.
Emily fought with Estonian Katrina Lehis to reach the semi-finals. The Ukrainian lost with a score of 7:15, but still showed the best result in her career at the senior World Cup level. Conrad’s final 7th place is the best result in Vancouver among all Ukrainian representatives. Among men, the highest place – 15th – was taken by Roman Svichkar.
Let us remember that in February, Conrad won a gold medal at the Junior World Fencing Cup in Tbilisi. Previously, as a member of the national team, she managed to win the 2023/24 Junior World Cup in Udine, Italy.
