Madrid are not yet ready to pay 60 million euros for the Ukrainian, but continue to monitor the defender
Ukrainian defender Bournemouth Ilya Zabarny included in the list of interests Real Madrid.
A positive report on the Ukrainian was compiled by Blancos chief scout Huni Calafat, who previously brought Vinicius Junior, Rodrigo, Fede Valverde and a number of other talents to the team. Madrid are looking for a central defender for the future; Zabarny is suitable for the transfer policy of the club management.
The defender is valued at 60 million euros. Real is not ready to pay such a sum for the 22-year-old Ukrainian, but continues to closely monitor the situation.
It was previously reported that Zabarny plans to sign with Chelsea in January. Tottenham and Manchester City are also vying for the defender.
The Ukrainian has been an indispensable performer in Andoni Iraola’s team for the second season. Following the results of the 2023/24 campaign, Ilya was recognized as Bournemouth’s best footballer and was also nominated for the Premier League’s symbolic team. In July, Zabarny extended his contract with the club until the summer of 2029.
This season, the 22-year-old center back played without substitution in all 12 matches in the Premier League, including in the victorious matches against Arsenal (2:0) and Manchester City (2:1).
Real are third in La Liga with 27 points. The team, for which Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin plays, will meet Leganes on Sunday, November 24. The match starts at 19:30.
