The Ukrainians will officiate the match between reigning champions Germany and recent offenders Dynamo.
The Ukrainian team of referees will work on one of the matches of the fifth round of the Champions League.
The Ukrainians were assigned to the match between the current German champion Bayer Leverkusen and Austrian Salzburg, which in the decisive round of qualification for the tournament did not allow Dynamo Kiev to the main stage.
According to UEFA’s official website, the main referee of this match is Nikolai Balakin. Alexander Berkut and Victor Matyash will help him in the lines. The duties of the fourth referee will be performed by Vitaly Romanov.
The Spaniard Guillermo Cuadra will be in charge of the VAR system, and the Italian Valerio Marini will be his assistant.

The match of the fifth round of the Champions League Bayer – Salzburg will take place in Leverkusen on Tuesday, November 26, and will start at 22:00 Kyiv time.
For Ukrainian referees, this is the fourth appointment in history in a Champions League match. In 1998, the main referee of the Athletic – Rosenborg meeting was Vasily Melnichuk, and Nikolai Balakin already has experience in two matches: Real Sociedad – Salzburg in 2023 and Sparta – Brest in the previous round of the current tournament.
