Samara “The Wings of the Soviets” beat Grozny “Akhmat” in the 16th round match of the MIR RPL.
The meeting took place in Samara and ended with a score of 2:1. Visiting striker Maxim Samorodov gave his team the lead at the end of the first half. The Wings got pinpoint shots from defender Dominic Oroz and midfielder Igor Dmitriev. In the first half, Dmitriev also sent the ball into Akhmat’s goal, but the goal was ruled out for offside.
In the 68th minute, with the score 1:1, host goalkeeper Ivan Lomaev saved Daniil Utkin’s 11-yard shot. Lomaev was injured in this episode and was replaced by Sergei Pesyakov.
Igor Osinkin’s team broke a seven-match winless streak in the RPL, scored 15 points and rose to 10th place in the standings. “Akhmata” (9 points) is in 15th line.
In the next round, Krylya Sovetov will play away against Zenit on December 1 and the Grozny team will play at home against Dynamo Moscow a day later.
