Florentino noticed the hunger of football managers to make money.

At the Madrid club’s general meeting, Real Madrid President Florentino Perez blasted UEFA for the updated Champions League format and increased number of matches.

According to the functionary, no one understands the principle in which the main European club competition is held today, and UEFA and FIFA are too greedy for money.

“FIFA increased the number of pauses (for national team matches – approximately), and UEFA created a Champions League format that no one understands. They increased the number of matches in the tournaments they have. They also created a new tournament – the Club World Cup.

10 years ago they organized 488 matches, today – 760. All this to earn more. They don’t consider the players. They don’t think the sport should be preserved, and they don’t think about football players either.

Perez also noted the evil of such decisions by football’s governing bodies for football players.

“It is harmful for professional players. It increases the number of injuries. This season we can play 82 matches. There are 63% more matches under the support of FIFA and UEFA – 36 instead of 22,” said the Spaniard.

Remember that Perez has previously said that Rodri deserved the Ballon d’Or, but last year.
