“It was very important to get the guys out of the hole.” Osinkin on the importance of defeating Akhmat in RPL

Head coach “The Wings of the Soviets” Igor Osinkin spoke about the importance of victory over “Akhmatom” in the 15th round of the MIR RPL.

Sunday’s meeting in Samara ended with the Wings winning with a score of 2:1.

— The match was so difficult, it was very emotional. And to think that someone was stronger… Of course we won, and we probably had more chances objectively. But overall, I wouldn’t say we were much stronger. A very difficult match, two motivated teams who did not want to concede a single fight.

— What was the key point?

– Of course, the situation when the referee gave a penalty to our goal is a key moment, because if he hadn’t done it, he should have put it against Akhmat with a penalty. Such a moment for the game cannot fail to be of capital importance. It so happened that the penalty was taken into our goal, but it was not scored, and in such situations sometimes those who saved it are lucky. In the end, we had a moment to realize it. Both teams played to win, no one drew. It was definitely a good and interesting match for the fans.

— How would you characterize the value of this victory?

— It is clear that we had difficult psychological moments in the team, and it was very important to get the guys out of this hole. We played well against CSKA, but we didn’t take any points. So we’re not officially out of this hole. But I told the guys we know how to play football. We prepared this match as a match where we would remember nothing. We came out with maximum spirit,” Osinkin said on the “8-16” show on MATCH PRIME.

Krylya Sovetov occupies 12th place in the RPL ranking with 15 points. In the next round, Samara will face Zenit on December 1.
