Portuguese referees have been appointed for the Europa League match between Kiev and Pilsen.
On Thursday, November 28, Dynamo Kiev will play a nominal home match against Victoria Plzen as part of the fifth round of the main stage of the Europa League.
According to UEFA’s official website, a Portuguese team of referees led by Luis Godinho was appointed for this match.
He will be assisted by compatriots Rui Teixeira and Pedro Almeida, and the duties of the fourth referee will be handled by Ricardo Baixinho.
Portuguese Thiago Martins will be in charge of the VAR system, and his assistant will be Frenchman Jerome Brizard.
Previously, Godinho did not meet with Dynamo, but worked in matches of other Ukrainian teams. Most recently, at the beginning of September this year, the Portuguese referee supervised the opening match of the Ukrainian national team in the round of the Nations League, where the “blue-yellows” lost to Albania 1:2. Also in 2021, he worked in the Conference League group stage match, where Lugansk Zorya suffered a 0:3 home defeat from the eventual winner of the tournament, the Italian Roma.
Godinho is already familiar with Victoria Pilsen. The Portuguese was the main referee in the 2020 Champions League qualifying match, where the Czech team lost 1:3 to Dutch AZ.
We remind you that the match in the fifth round of the Europa League Dynamo – Victoria will take place on Thursday, November 28, in Hamburg at the Volksparkstadion arena. The starting whistle for the match will sound at 19:45 Kyiv time.
