Ukrainian Svetlana Grushko received assignment for the first match of the playoffs of qualification European Women’s Championship 2025 between Portugal And Czech Republic as one of the chief referee’s assistants.
The match will be officiated by an international team led by Italian representative Silvia Gasperotti. Grushko’s colleague will be another Italian, Veronica Martinelli. Maria Marotta, a compatriot of Gasperotti and Martinelli, was entrusted with the role of reserve referee.
In April of this year, Svetlana already worked at the women’s European Championship selection match – as part of the Ukrainian team of Anastasia Romanyuk, together with Marina Streletskaya (lineswoman) and Lyudmila Telbukh (reserve referee). In the summer, Grushko was involved in the matches of the Women’s European Championship 2024 (WU-19), including the final match, and also refereed the Women’s World Cup 2024 (WU-20).
This season, Svetlana officiated twice in the Women’s Champions League matches in Ivana Projkovska’s team from North Macedonia: Juventus – Bayern (0:2) on October 16 and Wolfsburg – Galatasaray (5:0) on November 20.
The playoff match of the qualifying women’s European Championship Portugal – Czech Republic will be held in Porto on November 29. Starts at 21:45 Kyiv time. The return match will take place on December 3.
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian national team will also play in the playoffs of the 2025 European Championship. Her opponent will be the Belgian team, the matches will be held on the same dates – November 29 and December 3. The first match will take place in Antalya, Turkey (start at 19:00 Kyiv time), the return match will take place in Leuven, Belgium (21:15).
This selection round is the last and decisive one. In it, seven duets will determine the seven participants in the final stage of the tournament, designed for 16 teams.
The draw for the final part of the European Championship will take place on December 16. The tournament itself will take place next summer in Switzerland.
