The Dynamo coach said that tomorrow five injured players led by Yarmolenko, as well as the disqualified Dubinchak, will not be able to help his team
Head coach Dynamo Alexander Shovkovsky spoke about preparations for tomorrow’s fifth round match Europa League group stage against the Czech Victoria Pilsen.
“We have the same players injured who recently could not help the team – Shepelev, Pikhalenok, Yarmolenko, Ceballos. They were joined by Andrievsky, who fell ill, and also, as you know, Dubinchak was disqualified.”
“When you play at a high level, there are no small things. We can get used to it [к частым переездам]but such things still make themselves felt, every little thing like this does not add opportunities to us. This has already been said a lot, I don’t want to repeat it, but this factor still matters.”
“The results of Victoria Pilsen speak for themselves. She regularly plays in European cups, constantly fights for the highest places in the Czech championship, and has not lost a single match in the current cycle – both in qualifying and in the main stage of the Europa League. This speaks of her stability and aggressiveness. In short, this is a very difficult opponent, as many teams in the Europa League experienced.”
“If we talk about my experience as a player and a coach, these are completely different things. I can say that Czech teams have always been distinguished by their fighting qualities, it has always been difficult to play against them, and such matches have always been interesting for the fans.”
The match between Dynamo and Victoria will take place on Thursday, November 28, in Hamburg. The starting whistle at the Volksparkstadion will sound at 19:45 Kyiv time. The match will be officiated by the Portuguese team led by Luis Godinho.
With four defeats and a goal difference of 0:10, Dynamo is the worst team in the general stage of the Europa League. Victoria Pilsen is in 16th position with one win and three draws.
Let us remind you that in the Europa League qualifying this season, Victoria beat another Ukrainian club – Krivbass, scoring two victories (2:1, 1:0). The main forward of the Czech team is the Ghanaian Prince Adu (6 goals + 2 assists, including 2+1 in the League), who managed to score for Krivbass, after which he changed jobs at the end of August.
