Remaining in the minority, the Miners lost their two-goal handicap
Miner under the most dramatic circumstances, lost a two-goal lead and eventually lost PSV in the away match of the 5th round of the general stage Champions League 2024/25 – 2:3.
The miners shocked the hosts already in the opening of the match: Efim Konoplya played well in the attack, and Daniil Sikan successfully played ahead after his cross.
The game continued with equal chances. PSV attacked, the opponent stung the opponent in counterattacks and caught another chance towards the end of the half. The omnipresent Konoplya this time supplied the ball to Alexander Zubkov, and the winger delivered a successful dribbling shot.
After the break, Marino Pusic’s team played the score wisely for half a time. The Dutch team had an overwhelming territorial advantage, which became even greater after Pedro Henrique was sent off for a rough tackle on Yoan Bakayoko.
In the majority, Peter Bosz’s team began to create chances; Dmitry Riznyk had to help the team out in several cases. But he was powerless in the 87th minute, missing Malik Tillman’s free-kick into the near corner. And three minutes later, the American scored a double with a luxurious long-range strike.
In the remaining time, Riznyk made another save. The guests only had to hold out for nothing when PSV’s attack was crowned with success: fresh Pepi, in the turmoil at the goal of the Ukrainian team, scored the winning goal.
The miner did not retain the victory, and even failed to maintain a draw. With four points, the Miners are in 26th place in the overall standings, just outside the playoff zone. The team from Eindhoven is in 18th place (8 points).
In the next round, on December 10, the Miners will host Bayern, and PSV will visit Brest.
