Liverpool became the first club to qualify for the Champions League knockout stages

The victory over Real Madrid was decisive for Arne Slot’s team

Liverpool became the first club to qualify for Champions League playoffs 2024/25.

The Reds managed to secure an early exit to the next round thanks to a victory over Real Madrid (2:0) in the fifth round of the general stage. Let us note that Arne Slot’s team won five victories in five games.

Thus, with 15 points, Liverpool confidently leads the overall standings and will no longer fall below 24th place. The Merseyside club became the fifth team in Champions League history to win their first five matches in the competition without conceding more than one goal, repeating the performance of Milan (1992/93 season), Juventus (2004/05), Atlético Madrid (2016/17) and PSG (2017/18).

On December 10, Liverpool will play an away match with Girona of Ukrainian Viktor Tsygankov. Next, Arne Slot’s team will have matches against Lille and PSV.
