Cincinnati failed to reach an agreement with Shakhtar on extending Kevin Kelce’s lease

The 20-year-old Venezuelan striker’s loan expires on December 31, 2024.

Cincinnati failed to come to an agreement with Miner on the extension of the Venezuelan forward’s loan Kevin Kelsey.

The 20-year-old forward will not be in Cincinnati for the 2025 MLS season. The American club made several attempts to keep Kelsey in their squad, but Shakhtar did not agree to the offer of 5 million euros.

Kelsey’s current lease agreement with Cincinnati runs through Dec. 31, 2024. His contract with Shakhtar is valid until the end of 2027.

This year, Kevin Kelce played 29 matches for the American team, scoring six goals.

Cincinnati finished third in the MLS Eastern Conference standings. In the playoffs of the tournament, Kelsey’s team lost on penalties to New York City in the 1/8 finals in the decisive match of the series.
