Real Madrid notify Liverpool of plans to sign Trent as a free agent

This was done out of respect for the Merseysiders

Real notified Liverpool about plans to sign a defender Trent Alexander-Arnold free agent in the summer of 2025.

The Blancos notified the Reds out of respect for the club. Real Madrid and the player could begin negotiations on a personal contract in January. Liverpool have planned negotiations with Trent on a new agreement.

Trent is a product of the Reds club academy. Last season, Alexander-Arnold made 37 appearances in all competitions. The defender has three goals and nine assists.

In total, Alexander-Arnold has played 15 matches in all competitions this season, recording two assists. Trent made over 30 appearances for England, scoring four goals.

Liverpool confidently leads the Premier League standings – its lead is eight points from second-placed Manchester City. On December 1, in the central match of the 13th round of the Premier League, Arne Slot’s team will take on the Citizens.

Real Madrid (30 points) continues to chase Barcelona (34 points) in La Liga. Tomorrow Carlo Ancelotti’s team will have a match with Getafe.
