Tyson will try to correct the mistakes of the first fight with Usyk
Former WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KO) commented on the upcoming rematch with the current holder of the WBC, IBO, WBA and WBO titles Alexander Usik (22-0, 14 KOs).
“Can I improve? Can I do better? I can be more focused and do less clowning. I think that’s enough.”
“You know, maybe if he throws this punch 100 times, he might not cause me any damage. You saw that in the first fight, he managed to do it only once. That’s all he achieved.”
Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.
An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option.
The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight.
