The national team star supported the pro-European aspirations of his compatriots.

Napoli and Georgian national team winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has expressed his opinion on the protests in his homeland.

The Georgian football player expressed solidarity with his compatriots fighting for the country’s pro-European path of development.

“I follow the developments in our country and want, as a citizen, to express my opinion and position.

The desire and will of the Georgian people is the European path of development and the continuation of this path, this is our historical choice, the only right choice, and we cannot turn away from this path. The country belongs to the people, and no one is above the will of the people.

It hurts me for my country, it hurts for my people, it hurts me and it’s emotional to watch the videos that are spreading. Stop violence and aggression. Today, Georgia deserves to be in Europe more than ever,” Kvaratskhelia wrote on Instagram.

Let’s recall that mass protests began in Georgia on November 28 after the authorities announced the rejection of negotiations until 2028 on the country’s entry into the EU.

Earlier it was reported that the new head coach planned to invite Kvaratskhelia to Manchester United.
