Agent Selyuk called Fedorishchev’s remarks that 10 RPL clubs were involved in a corruption scheme as pure populism

Famous agent Dmitry Selyuk said he considered the words of the governor of the Samara region to be pure populism Vyacheslav Fedorishchev that 10 Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs are involved in a corruption scheme in Russian football.

On Tuesday, Fedorishchev said that one of the officials “The wings of the Soviets ” informed him of a debt of 36 million rubles to “criminals involved in corruption within the Russian football refereeing body.” He stressed that in total, 10 clubs were involved in this project. The head of the region proposed organizing a campaign under the flag and hashtag “Clean Sport” and announced on Wednesday that a public movement with the same name would be created in the near future.

On Thursday, an extraordinary meeting of RPL clubs was held in Moscow, following which the league sent a letter to Fedorishchev asking him to provide available information on allegations of corruption in professional football. The RPL also requested an investigation and declared itself ready to launch an appeal to the police to identify the perpetrators. Fedorishchev responded by saying he had passed the information on to law enforcement.

— The governor of the Samara region claims that 10 Russian Premier League clubs are involved in a corruption case. Do you believe it?

— He can talk about 10 clubs, but that’s pure populism. He’s not sure, but he knows from someone’s words – perhaps an employee of his club. It is therefore doubtful to make such a claim without facts.

But I think that the RFU is obliged to cooperate with the Investigative Committee or create a special unit for its own security, which, together with law enforcement agencies, will monitor everything, ”Selyuk told .
