“Anything can happen in football. But that doesn’t mean I have to lose confidence in myself.” – Rakhimov on mid-season retirement rumors

Head coach of Kazan “Rubin” Rashid Rakhimov said that his eventual dismissal was predicted by people who did not understand football and that he himself did not lose confidence, even in difficult times.

Meeting of the 17th round of the MIR RPL between CSKA and Rubin took place on Saturday at the VEB Arena in Moscow and ended with a score of 2:2. In the 65th minute, Rubin remained in the minority after the expulsion of Dmitry Kabutov.

— Can we say that Rubin’s results over 17 days allow you to have confidence in your position within the club, given all the rumors concerning a possible departure during this season?

— I didn’t know when the rumors started? Have you yourself questioned those who are spreading these rumors? I am not interested in their words. Why shouldn’t I trust? Am I not good at working?

It is clear that in football anything can happen. No one is safe. The coach comes and goes, that’s normal. But that doesn’t mean I have to lose confidence in myself. Why did I study five years in Europe and why did I defend my diploma, and in German?

Those who don’t understand this speak. Let them sit with me and talk. In five minutes, they will find themselves in a difficult position. That’s why you don’t need to do this. I respect any opinion, there is no problem. But there was trust then, and now, and when I leave, there will be the same thing, ”reports the correspondent of , reporting Rakhimov’s words.

The Kazan team is seventh in the championship standings with 23 points. In the next round, Rubin will face Dynamo Makhachkala on December 7.
