The Executive Director of the Ukrainian Premier League spoke about the decision to end the season earlier than schedule.
Shakhtar, Dynamo, Dnipro-1, Zorya and Vorskla will represent Ukraine in European football competitions. Evgeniy Dykyy, executive director of UPL, spoke about it in an interview on Football 1/2/3 TV channels.
According to him, the championship clubs unanimously supported the decision to build the season on February 24.
“The clubs supported the decision to consider the Vbet League of the 2021/22 season as it could not be completed due to Russian military aggression. If the standings are added up on February 24. The winners will be distributed as they are placed in the standings, to transfer it to UEFA and not to carry out the awarding of championship winners, as it was not completed according to the principle of sport.
The clubs unanimously accepted this decision. We will formalize it properly and submit it to the UAF executive committee for approval.
The UAF is responsible for handling the Cup of Ukraine. Currently, Shakhtar and Dynamo clubs represent Ukraine in the Champions League. Shakhtar will start from the playoffs, and Dynamo from the second qualifying round. Dnepr-1 will start from the Europa League play-offs, and football clubs Vorskla and Zorya will represent Ukraine in the Conference League. They will start the third and second qualifying rounds of the competition.
I have an idea, I might be a little ahead, for no one will fly, given that the season isn’t over yet. It is important to safeguard the interests of all clubs, including the PFL, who have fought for the right to climb the class. Therefore, to satisfy everyone, it will be considered, and we will make a decision that suits all parties, – says Evgeniy Dikiy.
