Girona without Tsygankov saved a draw on the Villarreal field in the 15th round of Examples

The match of the 15th round of the Spanish Examples — Villarreal tied at home with Girona (2:2).

The score was opened by the hosts in the middle of the first half – French forward Thierno Barry scored. In the opening of the second half, Villarreal doubled their lead thanks to a precise strike from Alex Baena.

In the 66th minute, Girona reduced the gap in the score – Donny van de Beek scored his debut goal in Example. In the last minute of regular time, the score was equalized by the legendary Girona forward Cristian Stuani, but after a VAR review the goal was overturned.

And yet the guests achieved their goal. In the 90+7 minute, Czech centerback Ladislav Krejci scored with an accurate strike.

Let us note that before this departure, Girona had an excellent three-match series in the championship, during which it scored nine points, scoring nine times against its opponents. Michel himself was then recognized as the best coach of November in the Spanish Championship.

Girona winger Viktor Tsygankov was not included in his team’s lineup for this game. Michel previously reported that the Ukrainian had problems with his ankle.

Villarreal continues to be in the Champions League zone – after 14 rounds, Marcelino Toral’s team scored 26 points, now occupying 4th place in the standings. Girona, in turn, rose to 7th place.

On Wednesday, December 4, both teams will play their matches in the Copa del Rey against lower-league opponents – Villarreal will face Pontevedra, and Girona will face Logrones.
