Gorbach: Micin can be compared to Mateo Kovacic

Midfielder Zarya Igor Gorbach shared his opinion about the match 15th round of the Ukrainian Championshipin which his team won strong-willed victory over the Carpathians (2:1).

— Zarya finished the first round of the Ukrainian Championship on a good note. What are your thoughts immediately after the game with Karpaty?

“We have only positive emotions now.” We were able to turn the tide of events. For us, it used to be the other way around: we won and then lost the score. Now we showed character, and we had nowhere to retreat. This meeting decided where we were moving – up the standings or down. All the Zarya players gave their best, the mood was crazy. In the second half, we converted our chances into goals.

— Why did Zarya’s defenders make so many mistakes near their goal in the first half?

– Unnecessary emotions, we were too tuned in to this meeting. At first they prevented us from thinking and playing with a cool head. I think we had a little jitters. It’s good that we turned the tide on the football field.

— Were the Carpathians strong?

– Yes. The Lviv team played well, especially in the first half, when they outplayed us. It happens that you seem to be in control of the game, but somewhere, at some point, you overlooked your opponent – and that’s all. Plus, we scored after a set piece, and this is our strong point. I can only say thank you to the guests for a good game.

— Petar Micin scored twice for Zarya. This Serbian player is 26 years old. Who can you compare him to among European footballers in terms of his contribution to your team’s game?

— Perhaps he can be compared with Mateo Kovacic from Manchester City. Michin is not a super fast football player, but he has a good vision of the game and together with Yatsyk he moves our game. Petar has a good shot, which he confirmed today.

— At the end of the game there was a serious clash between players from both teams, as a result of which the referee warned four players with yellow cards. What was there?

“I had already been replaced by that time, but our bench was nearby. I went out onto the field and tried to calm down the visiting defender Baboglo, but I heard unflattering words addressed to me, even, I would say, unprintable words. I think it was rude of him. However, there are a lot of emotions in football, so everything is normal, no one is immune from mistakes.

— The first round of the Ukrainian Championship is behind us. What can Zarya count on in the remaining games – with Ingulets and Chernomorets?

“We can count on winning these matches. I think we can do this. We want to go on holiday in a good mood.
