The Brazilian will take Kalidou Koulibaly’s place in the lineup.
Al-Hilal decided to add the Brazilian forward Neymar for the second half of the season.
The striker will take the place of centerback Kalidou Koulibaly. The center back does not live up to the expectations placed on him, and Al-Hilal is ready to part with the player.
In turn, Neymar will play for the club only until the end of his agreement – the summer of 2025. Al-Hilal has no plans to renew the agreement with the Brazilian.
Neymar became an Al-Hilal player in August last year, joining from PSG. His transfer cost the Saudi club 90 million euros.
In October 2023, Neymar suffered a knee injury in a qualifying match for the 2026 World Cup against Uruguay. Since then, the forward has not taken the field for a year. Neymar was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his knee, as well as damage to the anterior cruciate ligament.
The 32-year-old returned from injury on October 21, playing 14 minutes in the 5-4 Asian Champions League win over Al Ain. Neymar then received half an hour in the same tournament against Esteghlal (3:0). At the same time, he has no right to compete in the Saudi Arabian Championship, since he was not declared for the season due to the limit on foreign players.
It was reported that Santos is continuing negotiations for the return of Neymar. Peixe vice-president Osvaldo Nico is confident that the experienced striker will reunite with the club where he began his professional career next summer.
Al-Hilal is in second place in the Saudi Pro League after 12 rounds.
