PSG president dismisses rumors of potential Egyptian signing
President and CEO PSG Nasser Al-Khelaifi denied rumors about the Parisians’ interest in signing the Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.
“He’s a fantastic and amazing player, but we never considered Salah to be honest. We know every club would love to have him, but this rumor about us is simply not true,” Al-Khelaifi said.
Earlier it was reported that Salah began negotiations with PSG regarding a transfer in the summer transfer window as a free agent. A number of clubs from Saudi Arabia are also vying for the 32-year-old Egyptian forward.
Mohamed Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires in the summer of 2025. The Egyptian himself admitted that he had not received any offers to extend the agreement, saying that he felt “more outside the club than in it.”
This season, Salah has played 20 matches in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and 11 assists.
PSG leads the French championship, seven points ahead of its nearest rival. In the next match, the Parisians will play against Auxerre on December 6.
