Football seasons in the lower Ukrainian divisions will also be stopped early in the schedule due to the war.
The First and Second League football seasons will be completed ahead of schedule. Andriy Pavelko, President of the Ukrainian Football Association, spoke about it in an interview with Suspіlna Sport.
The competition is waiting for the fate of the Ukrainian Premier League, the season in which they did not finish the game because of the war. It is expected that the corresponding decision will be made in the near future at the training camp of PFL members.
“The decision was unanimous [о досрочном завершении сезона УПЛ]. I believe the clubs will make their decision, which will be approved by the UAF Executive Committee. This is relevant because the term of martial law has been extended. [до 25 мая].
And after martial law, there was no time to continue the championship. We will make this decision when we receive the protocol. The same decision will be made in the PFL, upon completion of the First and Second League championships, ”Pavelko said.
