The forward of the national team of Ukraine and the Portuguese Benfica spoke about the aggression of the Russian occupiers.

“In the first two weeks I was shocked and didn’t understand what was going on,” this is how Benfica striker Roman Yaremchuk described his feelings after Putin’s army’s invasion of Ukraine in Football 1/2/3 TV channels.

According to the footballer, he was very scared for his family and friends. In addition, the national team player was terrified of the atrocities committed by the Moscow occupiers in our country.

“Of course, I understand that something will happen, but I do not think they are smart enough to attack Ukraine from all sides. Our country, I can not imagine in the most terrible fantasies. I have not seen the such a thing.in the cinema, what’s going on now.

Ukraine is a state in Europe. I don’t want to name the countries, but we don’t live where Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan are, we are in the middle of Europe. And how this can happen with impunity I just don’t understand.

For the first two weeks, I couldn’t understand what was going on. It was a shock for me. Why I don’t want to talk about it, is because I can’t imagine what people in the hottest places go through.

I am more concerned about my loved ones, my family, my husband’s family and friends, that I have a lot in Ukraine. It was an experience not for himself, but for loved ones.

And what people feel in the hottest place, I can’t find the words to explain it. Of course, it was hard, Benfica offered me to rest, as long as I had to stay home and be interrupted, but, of course, I refused and trained in the group as a full -fledged football player, ”Yaremchuk said.
